TGIFC#43 - Inspiration Challenge

Here is the card I entered the other day for this challenge:

I used a Bermuda Bay card base (14.9cm x 10.5cm) then added a Whisper White layer (10cm x 14.4cm) which was stamped with the Sale-a-Bration stamp set Pedal Pusher in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

The bike was coloured in with marker pens, Smokey Slate, Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, Marina Mist, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Real Red and Basic Black. The Bermuda Bay banner cut with Bitty Banners Framelits and was stamped with the Happy Birthday from Sprinkles of Life (don't forget for every purchase of Sprinkles of Life stamp set, $3.00 is donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities®).

It was looking a little bare, so I used the Basic Black marker to draw a rectangle (very roughly, as you can see) and added some little dashes too!

Thanks for looking!

Until next time

Deb

Global Design Project #024

This week's challenge is to Case the Designer - which means to copy and selectively edit!

I love Michelle's choice of colours and how she has done the butterfly! What a great card to inspire us!

My choice of card this week is a baby card for a boy.  I had fun making my own speciality cardstock for the top layer using Sea Street for a nautical theme. The octopus I inked in Marina Mist and then used Night of Navy on a dauber to darken around the edges (maybe was a little heavy handed), but I like the overall effect! Add a touch of red for impact and it was done!

I would love to hear your comments!

Cardstock: Soft Sky for base, Whisper White for first layer and on tag, Marina Mist for top layer, Real Red for back of tag and Night of Navy for star

DSP: Night of Navy

Stamp Sets:  Sea Street and A Dozen Thoughts

Inks:  Marina Mist and Night of Navy

Punches:  2 1/2" Circle Punch, Star from Itty Bitty Accents and Modern Label (retired - I just can't quite give it up!)

Extras:  Dimensionals

Till next time

Deb

Global Design Project #023

This week the theme is:

There are so many choices, I was really overwhelmed! I tried one thing, but wasn't happy with it, so I tried another. Still not happy, what was I going to do?

Back to the drawing board, going through all the stamp sets AGAIN!!

All of a sudden I saw the words and I knew :)

Tell me what you think of my final choice!

Stamp Sets: Happy Home, The Open Sea and Balloon Builders
Cardstock: Marina Mist & Whisper White
Inks: Black StazOn, Marina Mist, Real Red & Mint Macaroon
Extras: Dimensionals, Glue Dots & Crystal Effects

‪#‎imbringingbirthdaysback

Shannon West (another Stampin' Up! demonstrator) has started the movement #imbringingbirthdaysback because she thinks Facebook has ruined birthday cards. I agree!

If you would like a birthday card from me this year, please leave a comment with your birth date (just day and month), PM or email your address and I will send you a card. I will try my best to get it to you on time, but no guarantees :)

Cheers

New Challenges

I'm going to try this blogging thing again!

I have been inspired (thanks Kylie Bertucci!!!) to enter card challenges with Global Design Project.

Sooooo, here is my first ever challenge entry #GDP021

Deb Macdowell #GDP021:
Deb Macdowell

The challenge was to use the colours Bermuda Bay, Wisteria Wonder and Melon Mambo. I love how this turned out! Originally I was planning on having flowers too, but decided it looked better without.

Looking forward to next week's challenge.

Till then
