This week's challenge is to Case the Designer - which means to copy and selectively edit!
I love Michelle's choice of colours and how she has done the butterfly! What a great card to inspire us!
My choice of card this week is a baby card for a boy. I had fun making my own speciality cardstock for the top layer using Sea Street for a nautical theme. The octopus I inked in Marina Mist and then used Night of Navy on a dauber to darken around the edges (maybe was a little heavy handed), but I like the overall effect! Add a touch of red for impact and it was done!
I would love to hear your comments!
Cardstock: Soft Sky for base, Whisper White for first layer and on tag, Marina Mist for top layer, Real Red for back of tag and Night of Navy for star
DSP: Night of Navy
Stamp Sets: Sea Street and A Dozen Thoughts
Inks: Marina Mist and Night of Navy
Punches: 2 1/2" Circle Punch, Star from Itty Bitty Accents and Modern Label (retired - I just can't quite give it up!)
Extras: Dimensionals
Till next time
Deb
Love this nautical look. Stampin the octopus in two tones is such a great way to add so much interest. Thanks for joining us at Global Design Project.
ReplyDeleteSo fun! I love the bold stripes in the background - very nautical. All pulled together perfectly with the lighter blue and red. I would have never thought to use the octopus for a baby card, but this one is perfect. Thanks you so much for playing along with this week's CASE the Designer Challenge at Global Design Project - I'm glad you did.
ReplyDeleteThanks Brian!
