As it is Christmas month (even though we may have been hearing carols at the shops and seeing Christmas goodies for the last two or three months) I thought I would share a couple of off the page projects I have done.
This one is my take on the one Shelli made and was on the video of Shelli and Sara at Onstage, you can find the video on the Events page on the Stampin' Up!® website. Thanks Shelli!!
To make the star box you will need to use the largest star shape die from Stitched Stars and cut two.
For the edge of the box you will need a strip measuring 3.8cm x 38cm (you will need two cut from the long side of the A4 to get enough length for each star, so four in all. Make sure you join them on a corner.)
Score at 0.5cm along short edge and every 3.8cm along long edge. Folds every 3.8cm alternate valley and mountain. Cut from edge down to 0.5cm fold line on every 3.8cm fold line and then cut off corners of each of the flaps so they will overlap nicely.
I originally thought that I could use these boxes to put the following Christmas tree decoration in, but I think I need my eyes checked because it was like trying to put a fully grown chicken back in the egg!! ššš
Anyway, here is my Christmas tree decoration!
My husband was visiting his favourite woodwork shop when we went to Melbourne a couple of weeks ago and found these cedar slices. He knew I was looking for something like these and got some for me! How nice is that?
I initially stamped with StaZon on the raw wood and then coloured with Stampin' Blends but that didn't work as well as I wanted, so I decided to use the fine tip glue pen to seal them first. That worked much better but I did find that I needed to let the StaZon dry for about 30 minutes before trying to use the Stampin' Blends or otherwise they removed the StaZon.
