Dragonfly Garden

Another sneak peek of Dragonfly Garden (available 5 January 2021).

I just love playing with this stamp set! Dragonflies and butterflies would have to be THE BEST flying insects, so, so pretty! Something about them just makes you smile! They also jazz up just about any card!

The whole Dandy Garden suite is fabulous, but today I am focusing on Dragonfly Garden stamp set and the Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper (DSP).

Using acetate (window sheets) for a card is a fun way to highlight dragonflies as it makes them look like they are actually flying!

Card Measurements

Card base:    29.8cm x 10.5cm

DSP layer:    14.5cm x 10cm

Acetate:    14.8cm x 10.5cm

Whisper White:    14.5cm x 10cm

Instructions

Score the card base at 14.9cm. Using a Curvy die I cut a curve approximately 3cm from the bottom of the card base front. Using the same Curvy die I cut a curve approximately 3cm from the score line at the top of the card base front. Attach your acetate to the inside of the card base front at the top and then attach the bottom curve to the front of the acetate at the bottom. Cut two pieces of the card stock (from the left over) approximately 1.5cm x 10.5cm and attach to the back of the acetate (behind the curved section to cover the glue).

Heat emboss dragonflies on acetate (I used an extra piece for this and I also used the retired black embossing powder). Colour the back of the dragonflies with Stampin' Blends (make sure not to use on the front or the heat embossing will come off)! Attach the dragonflies to the front of the acetate.

Glue DSP to the inside back of the card base and a neutral card stock 14.5cm x 10cm to the back of the card base to write on. Use a scrap of DSP to edge it along the bottom.

Add a sentiment and you are done!
