I was watching Sara Douglass's video on Gilded Leafing (which is well worth watching) and wondered if VersaMark direct to the page for a worn/aged look was possible. It is!! You can!! Of course you still need the Heat & Stick powder heated too but I was happy with the outcome!
Unfortunately, we all need sympathy cards occasionally and the colours I have used today remind me of the beautiful lady who was such a large part of my childhood. I guess today we would call her style shabby chic!
Card Measurements
Card base: 21cm x 14.9cm scored at 10.5cm and folded
1st layer: 14.5cm x 10cm
2nd layer: 13.7cm x 9.2cm
Inner layer: 14.5cm x 10cm
Scrap for sentiment
Instructions
- Adhere double sided tape to the 1st layer on all 4 sides approximately 0.3cm from edges
- Remove protective tape from double sided tape
- Dip 1st layer into container of gilded leafing and brush off excess with sponge
- Using blending brushes add colour to 2nd layer from left edge to the middle or a little bit further
- Stamp word image on 2nd layer
- From left edge of 2nd layer, smear VersaMark pad directly onto page with a quick shortish swipe
- Cover 2nd layer with heat & stick powder and heat
- Dip 2nd layer into container of gilded leafing and brush off excess with sponge
- Stamp leaf image/s on 2nd layer (wipe over gilded areas with a tissue after as the ink will not set on the gilding)
- Stamp sentiment on scrap using VersaMark
- Add gold embossing powder to sentiment and heat set
- Die cut/punch/trim sentiment
- Using blending brushes colour sentiment lightly
- Adhere sentiment to 2nd layer using mini dimensionals
- Adhere 2nd layer to 1st layer
- Adhere 1st layer to front of card base
- Using blending brushes colour right hand edge of inner layer
- Adhere inner layer to inside back of card base
