Oh So Ombre High Tide

Very special thanks goes to Barry from Mitosu Crafts for the inspiration for this card https://youtu.be/FOLBjpG9_JE

After watching his excellent video I just had to try it for myself using the Oh So Ombre DSP from the Sale-A-Bration Brochure (which ends on the 28th February 2021)!

For someone who doesn't use a lot of DSP generally, I have used this paper heaps!

Card Measurements

Card base:    29.7cm x 10.5cm scored at 14.9cm and folded

1st layer:    14.5cm x 10cm

2nd layer:    14.2cm x 9.7cm

3rd layer:    15.2cm x 15.2cm

Inner layer:    14.5cm x 10cm

Instructions

  • Cut 3rd layer (DSP) into 1cm strips (for this to work it must be an ombre style paper or you can make your own like Barry did)
  • Adhere 3rd layer 1cm strips to 2nd layer alternating top and bottom
  • Trim any excess of 3rd layer to match 2nd layer
  • Stamp image/s on 3rd layer using versamark
  • Heat emboss image/s on 3rd layer using embossing powder and heat tool
  • Stamp sentiment on 3rd layer using versamark
  • Heat emboss sentiment on 3rd layer using embossing powder and heat tool
  • Adhere 2nd layer to 1st layer
  • Adhere 1st layer to front of card base
  • Stamp image/s on inner layer
  • Adhere inner layer to inside back of card base
Tip:    Make sure your glued strips are completely dry before stamping image and heat embossing (not like me)!

Tip:    If you don't have any black embossing powder (which is now retired) you can ink your image in versamark and without stamping ink again using basic black, then stamp and heat emboss using clear embossing powder.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my post.

Cheers
